5 tips for traveling with pets

Our family loves to travel. We plan several trips a year and try to take our dog with us as much as possible. 1. Make sure you pack the essentials (leash, food dishes, clean up bags, blanket or bed, chew toy, treats). You want them to be as comfortable as they can while you are traveling.
2. It is essential to have tags on your pet before you leave home. That way if they get lost, they are more likely to be returned to you.
3. Keep your pets secured in a crate, carrier or pet seat belt. This will keep them safe and you won’t get distracted. Safety first.
4. Stop every few hours while you are driving to let you pet out to got potty, have a drink/snack.
5. Book your stays at pet-friendly hotels. Once you are at the hotel, be sure to take them exploring and let them become familiar with their new area.
