This post is brought to you by West Jordan Western Stampede Rodeo. All opinions are 100% my own.
This year I wanted to take my family to the West Jordan Western Stampede rodeo for the Fourth of July. It has been a lot of years since my family and I have been able to go so my youngest have never even been to a rodeo before. My husband finally had the 4th off and so we made the plans. To top it off, my parents were also able to come, making it even better. They both grew up on farms so this is like “home” for them. We made plans to go to the West Jordan Stampede Rodeo because we were told about how amazing it is. We couldn’t wait!
We arrived early (you will want to come early to park and get in) and got to our seats about 10 minutes before it started. I actually really enjoyed where we sat (in section H) because we had a perfect view of the chutes when they opened. The MC was funny and I loved how he announced the show.
They had a beautiful flag ceremony and singing of the National Anthem. I loved the military presence throughoutthe show as well. My brother retired from the Army National Guard and served overseas, so I have an even greater respect for our service men and women.
One of my favorite parts of the Rodeo is the bucking Broncos. This is the first event, so don’t be late 😉
They had a lot of great competitors that made for an amazing show.
Another fun part was the Motorcycle show. The two riders were very talented and it was a lot of fun to watch.
From where we were sitting we were able to see about 10-15 different fireworks shows in the background while the Rodeo was wrapping up. It was so beautiful and a great addition to the show. This is a fun part about going on the 4th, and also that there are fireworks at the West Jordan Park right after the Rodeo as well. We walked out to the parking lot and just sat by the car (as did many others) but you can also walk over to the park which is close by.
Another great and iconic part of the Rodeo is the Bull Riding. There were some tough bulls this year, but the riders were tough too so it made for a great show!
Overall we really loved the West Jordan Stampede Rodeo and can’t wait to take our kids and family back again next year. My two youngest are already talking about doing the muton bustin’ and my older girls loved watching the barrel racing!
