We always have Nestlé® Pure Life® on hand. We keep a few stored up so that when we do things like sports, hiking, or even car trips we all have a fresh bottle of water that we can reuse during our entire trip. On our last hike, we grabbed a case of Nestlé® Pure Life from Walmart. Before we left we chopped up some strawberries and raspberries and put them in baggies to take on our hike. We like to add these to the water once we reach the halfway point to give us a natural energy boost. Going on hikes with my family is something that I truly look forward too. It gives our family a chance to visit, connect and enjoy this beautiful world without the interference of everyday distractions.
Even our dog, Jake, loves to come with us and enjoy the outdoors. We always take an extra bottle of water for him so he can have a something to drink as well. Nestlé® Pure Life water has always been a brand that we can trust to give us the best quality water. I love that we can now buy a 35-pack at Walmart. Those extra bottles mean and extra bike ride with my kids!
We each pick a bottle out and then pack an extra one for the dog. This was a shorter hike. Sometimes we take two bottles per person to make sure we stay hydrated. I want to share 5 tips for a fun family hike so that you can make your family hike as much fun as we have.
- Wear good hiking shoes and comfortable clothes. Always take a light jacket.
- Stay hydrated by drinking good water like Nestlé® Pure Life.
- Go new places that are close to you and explore the area by making scavenger hunts, etc
- Add fresh fruit to your water for quick energy boost
- Stay on the trail. You are less likely to get hurt or get bugs this way.
These are just a few tips to help you get started on hiking with your family. I would love to hear more of your tips. Leave a comment below.
I hope you get your family together and go on a family hike. Choose different places to go and try different hikes out. We love hiking to a lake and spending time playing in/on the water or fishing. Just be sure to take enough Nestlé® Pure Life water with you.

We love plain water, but the fruit water looks good. Might have to try that soon.
You really need lots and lots of water while on a hike. Hiking is fun and how I missed it. Never did it again since I became a mom.
Anything to get families together has my vote. The number one thing is to stay hydrated when hiking.
I love this water and keeping it on hand is something we do too.
It has been a long time since I have been hiking! I remember doing something like this when I lived in SD. Great tips to go by when you are out in nature.
Looks like so much fun. Would love to do this with my family.
Hikes really are a great way to reconnect with the family. You have to always carry enough water.
One of my favorite things about our youngest two children getting older is that we can now walk, hike, climb, bike etc… and have a great time together just being outside. Awesome quality time together.
i have to show this to my husband as he is the one that does all the hiking in the family. great tips.
We don’t go for hike anymore due to my health condition but we like to walk on the trail. Water is the essence when out walking or hiking.
Those are all lovely tips. It’s really important to have water with you anywhere you go and hikes like this can be physically demanding, so water would be really helpful.
Staying hydrated is key, especially with kids. Love that you added some fruit for flavoring. Our boys love strawberries, but I’ve never thought to do that for them.
Water is a must have here, especially in the summer months. We are roadtripping to Georgia this coming weekend and we usually find a park to stop at to wander around for a little extra outdoor time.
I do miss hikes with my boys but they left home years ago, and not sure how much hiking they do … of I, for that matter. Funny how what you like/don’t really comes out after your kids move out. Well we do walk around the fountain park at least 3 or 4 evenings a week, 1.2 miles … but that is a walk, not a hike!
We love to go on hikes. Staying hydrated is very important. Your tips are really great and helpful.
Awesome, I’ll keep this in mind. I don’t think we’ve ever hiked as a family before. We should!
I can’t wait for our second child to be old enough for a hike. I always do these tips except staying on trail, I guess we have to do that from now on.
Water is always good for hikes The berries make the water a delightful treat.
We always have lots of waters with us when we go hiking. It is so important to stay hydrated.
My boys are old enough that we can finally hike as a family. We have already been on a few this year, and we had a great time! #client
