There is *almost* nothing I hate more than walking into a house (even my own) and getting hit in the face by that “pet smell”. I hate pet smell, and so I am always doing what I can to keep my home smelling fresh. I have a dog and a cat – while the dog is outdoors most of the time, the cat is always indoors. Between the litter box and other house smells like laundry, garbage, dishes, etc. I find that I have to have a system in place to keep up with it all and do what I can to get rid of odors and help keep things clean and smelling good. I want to share 5 ways to keep your home smelling fresh that will keep your home looking and smelling good. To keep your home fresh and smelling good can be a challenge no matter what. Add in pets, kids and life and it is a constant battle for me. I like to do things that make it easier for me to do what I need to do and have things that save time. I like shopping at Target because I can get great deals on things that I need, like the NEW Fresh Step® with the Power of Febreze™. It eliminates odors and keeps our house smelling fresh which helps me be more productive doing all the other things on my to-do list, so I am not constantly worrying about pet smell in our house. I have been using it for a while now and have noticed a huge difference. The litter even has a fresh smell to it a few weeks after being in the litter box (of course it has been regularly cleaned). I am amazed at how well it really works. Want to try it? From 3/20-3/26, you will receive a $5 Target Gift card if you buy 2 Fresh Step® litter boxes. This is a great deal – so be sure to take advantage of this great offer Available at Target! Pets can cause a smell in your home, but they are not the only that cause odors. I want to share 5 ways to keep your home smelling fresh {even with pets} so that you can look for things that may b causing odors and eliminate them with NEW Fresh Step® with the Power of Febreze™ and other Febreze™ products.
- Gather and take out all of the garbage’s at least every other day, and spraying the inside of your garbage cans with a disinfectant.
- Keeping your sinks and counters free of dishes and making sure the dishwasher runs regularly so dirty dishes don’t sit in the sink or dishwasher
- Getting a good quality Odor Control litter for your and cat cleaning the litter box at least once a week (depending on how many cats you have)
- Making sure that the laundry is done regularly and immediately washing any wet clothes/towels/bedding.
- Keeping food off of the pantry and kitchen floor and also the counters and make sure you clean out the fridge regularly.
These are just a few ways you can keep your house smelling more fresh and keep it looking nice. I would love to hear your tips and tricks. Thanks for these tips. I make it a rule in the house that the garbage should be taken out every night. It not only keeps the house odor free, it also prevents pests from coming into the house. I will also let my friends know about Fresh Step. I don’t have cats, but a lot of my friends do.

We do use this brand of kitty litter! It certainly does the trick and the smells seem to stay locked in.

Part of the reason I’m not into pets is their smell. It’s important for me to have a clean looking, clean smelling home and it’s good to know that I have an option now! It would be so nice to add a fur baby to the family. Thanks for sharing this!

Too bad they don’t make Fresh Step for dogs. I often wonder how they can be so stinky after only being outside a few minutes. Love that Target always has great shopping deals.

We don’t have any animals in the house but I completely understand where you’re coming from; when my dog was alive, he was one stinky puppy and that smell sunk in to everything! Even without animals we can use some of your tips to keep the smelliness away. Thank you for sharing 🙂

We have lizards and they’re not to smelly, but I 100% agree with you – and my husband would, too. We hate anything that smells bad in the house. It’s also important to remind kids that if they’re making something smelly, don’t throw it in the trash compactor, but take it outside to the outside trash can!

We don’t have cats, but our dog gets smelly sometimes…especially when he gets wet. I would love to make the place smell better when he gets like that.
