I haven’t really made the announcement yet, but my husband and I are traveling to Turks and Caicos in October. As I have never been out of the country and only visited about half of the States, I am thrilled with this opportunity. There are many things to get in order, but one of our top priorities is to lose weight and get lean and toned. We both want to not only look great, but feel great as well. I am a firm believer in having to make life changes, not go on “diets”, in order to better yourself and really make a difference. Part of that is what you eat and drink and the other part is physical fitness and being active. You can’t sit around all day with a bag of sugary treats and soda and expect to look and feel good. So if you are like me, and want to make a change, a life change, and get lean and tone – then keep reading.
Snack Better
Since I have a “desk job” I find myself wanting to snack all the time, but I have been able to curb this in a couple of ways – the first is to only have healthy treats on hand (veggies, a piece of fruit, a protein drink, etc) so that when you do snack it is good for you.
Stay Active
If you have a desk/office job, another important step is to make sure you are taking a break every 15-20 minutes to exercise. This can be as simple as walking around your office, stretching, doing wall push-ups, etc. Just keep moving and often. Keep is short – a couple of minutes – but do it in regular intervals. This will also help keep you more alert and awake. MAKE TIME to exercise everyday – for at least 30 minutes. This can be fit into EVERY schedule, and needs to be done in order to live a healthier lifestyle. Be sure to include your dog if you have one. They love to exercise and can be a great motivator!
Eat Meals every 3-4 hours
I know how easy it is to get busy and forget to eat, or grab something on the go that is less than stellar. This needs to stop. Not only is it unhealthy, but it is killing your metabolism. Eating in regular intervals, even if you are having a protein shake for your meal, will help keep you feeling better and give you more energy.
Develop healthier eating habits (no I am not talking about a diet (which = temporary) – I mean PERMANENTLY changing your eating habits)
Clean eating has something going for it. I love fresh fruits and veggies and making sure your body is getting all of the nutrients it needs. This includes drinking a lot of water. Don’t have time to prepare a meal? Grab a EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control drink to help manager your hunger, increase energy and give you good nutrients. These are especially great for your active lifestyle because they also nourish muscles
Set Goals
Everyone needs goals so that they can see where they are, where they want to be and how they are going to get there. Sit down and plan out a healthy menu, get rid of all the garbage in your house, office and car. Keep track of what you eat, when, and how much. Keep track of your exercise (a Fitbit or similar is a great way to do this) and be ready to really make life changes. These are changes that will be permanent – not just for a few weeks or months, but for years to come.
EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control is the perfect addition for us because it will help us reach our fitness and nutrition goals as we develop and active lifestyle. I want to be the best me I can be. I watch my carbohydrates and keep it around 20 per day, I also drink lots of water – which reminds me that I need to refill my water bottle right now. Have a blast in Turks & Caicos! You’ll love it there! #client
