Raise your hand if you love stress! I hope that nobody raised their hands because stress is not-so-great. It’s not fun to deal with stress on a daily basis, but in addition to not being fun, it’s also bad for our health. Stress reduction is a fundamental and basic part of any health program. It is important to learn how to manage stress. If you have a lot of stress on your plate and if it is a normal part of your everyday life, you are not as healthy as you can be. To reduce your stress is to improve your health, so I recommend that everyone work on stress reduction as much as possible. Also, when you reduce stress, most people usually live happier lives, too.
Here are 5 ways to manage stress
Find peaceful moments throughout your day
In order to manage stress, sometimes you have to find peace throughout the chaos of the day. For example, if you had a busy morning and then it’s time to work, try finding peace in your workday somehow. Maybe work outside, take a 30-minute lunch break to walk (on a treadmill or outside), sip coffee or juice slowly, or whatever else you can do. No matter who you are or what you do on a daily basis, if you can find peaceful moments throughout the hectic day, you will be able to manage stress much more easily compared to someone who doesn’t take any time to slow down and smell the roses.
Take time to breathe and just be
Some time out of each day, take time for yourself to just breathe and be still. This can be in the form of deep breathing, meditation, yoga, stretching, or whatever you want to make of the time. Whatever you do, just relax, breathe, and be still. There are so many incredible benefits when you take the time to do this, but one of them is definitely a reduction of stress. In fact, Mayo Clinic says, “Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace, and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. You can also use it to relax and cope with stress by refocusing your attention on something calming. Meditation can help you learn to stay centered and keep inner peace. And these benefits don’t end when your meditation session ends. Meditation can help carry you more calmly through your day. And meditation may help you manage symptoms of certain medical conditions.” Needless to say, meditation or just being still and thinking can really improve your stress levels and overall health and happiness.
Cut out the negativity to manage stress
If you have negativity in your life, you know how much stress it adds to your plate. Getting rid of negativity is not always possible (you will always have that one thing or one person in your life that brings negativity to the table), but the more you try to decrease the negativity in your life, the happier and more positive your life will be, which automatically decreases levels of stress.

Switch things up and get a change of scenery
If your house is too cluttered, try switching things up and get a change of scenery. Move your furniture around, declutter, or even move to a new home, where you are less stressed. If you need movers to hello with the heavy lifting, Movin’ can be there for you! They are Gun safe movers in Salt Lake City, residential movers, and great with packing too! Sometimes all you need is a change of scenery to make your house more peaceful and switching up the layouts of your rooms can definitely do that for you!
Exercise, but not too much
Last but not least, if you want to manage and reduce stress, try exercising, but not too much. Where’s the happy medium? Honestly, with whatever makes you feel the best. Sometimes, if you are exercising too much (without proper nutrients too), it can actually raise cortisol levels in your body, so just make sure to balance it all out. Sometimes, all you need is a good yoga or stretching session, and lifting weights can be a huge stress reducer!
