We received an Acer Aspire 5 laptop for review. All opinions are my own.
My oldest daughter started high school this year. Along with that comes a lot of intense classes and homework. She needed a laptop computer that would be lightweight and compact, but run all of the programs she needs.
The Acer Aspire 5 is a powerhouse! I truly love working on it and so does my daughter. The battery lasts a long time and the auto backlight on the keyboard makes it so easy to use any time of the day. It is light enough to be portable but big enough to have everything we need and more!

We took the Acer Aspire 5 with us on a camping trip right before school started and with me working intermittently, the battery lasted all three days! I was amazed. It is very fast, with a 10-key and tons of ports so you can hook up and use everything you need to. I am really surprised by how light it is. It comes in at just under 4 lbs!
Another thing I love about this laptop is how fast everything loads. Word loads quickly and so does my web browser. I am able to have several programs open at once and switch between them easily without any lagging or issues.
For as compact as it is I was worried about the keyboard not being comfortable. But I have been able to be as efficient on it as I am with my full-size laptop. I LOVE the 10-key on the side. Everything is laid out conveniently and there is a very little learning curve.
