Yesterday I took my daughter Brooklyn and went to the pre-screening of Avengers: Endgame! I, like everyone else, have been waiting a year to see the conclusion of Avengers: Infinity War. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I can tell you that of all of the theories I had bouncing around in my head – I was surprised at every turn.
OUR ENDGAME REVIEW
From the minute the movie starts, you are pulled right back into the story, feeling almost as if you had never left off. Do you remember how Infinity War ended (with half of the world’s population disappearing at the snap of Thanos’ fingers)?
There really is no down time in this movie. It is constantly moving the story forward. It runs for a solid 3 hours – and every minute is vital to the story line. You will see not only the over story of the Avengers working towards their goal, but also side stories of Captain America (Steve), Hawkeye (Clint), Iron Man (Tony), Hulk (Bruce), and Ant-Man (Scott).
They do an incredible job of tying everything together and not letting it drift too far in any direction. There are so many twists and turns to this movie. Just when you think you have it figured out or know what is going to happen they change it up again. Right up until the last minute of the movie you will be on the edge of your seat.
There is a lot of emotion in this film. Be prepared. Catch up on the other movies first if you are a little rusty with the details. Get ready for an amazing 3-hour cinematic treat. The special effects, screenplay, and cinematography are unsurpassed. I already have tickets to go see it again. That is how freaking amazing this movie is!
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MOVIE:
- FIGHTING: 7/10 – While there is a lot of fighting, even scenes showing graphic violence, there isn’t a lot of blood or gore.
- LANGUAGE/SEX: 4/10 – Several swear words – 10-15 uses of various words from Shi* to As* but no F-words. No sex or inappropriate scenes.
- ALCOHOL: 4/10 – Some of the characters have drinks in the film
RECOMMENDED AGES FOR VIEWING:
As I have said before, if your kids have seen the other Marvel movies, this won’t be any different. The same level of violence, actions, and feelings flow through this movie. The only difference is the finality of some of the scenes. It can get a little intense and emotionally overwhelming. Make sure they are prepared. With all of that being said, I would say 8 and older – maybe 10.
