I took my kids to the Day Haunt at Nightmare on 13th in Utah this last weekend (thank you Nightmare on 13th for hosting us), and I have to tell you it was one of the most fun Halloween activities I have done with them. The Day Haunt allows anyone (of all ages) to walk through the haunted house without any jump scares, animatronics, etc to make it scary. It is just the props and decorations that you can walk through to see what the experience would be like.
The experience is self-guided, but there are a lot of people going through it, so you do want to keep at a pace that matches. Overall it took us about 30 minutes to walk through. The kids got an awesome Trick-or-Treat bag at the end and got to get a treat from the “creature” (guy in a costume) out in the courtyard. We also spent about 15 minutes walking around the outside and soaking it all up. I have only been there at night, so it was just as much fun for me to go back during the day as it was going at night.
You will want to buy your tickets in advance – Get your tickets here – for anyone in your group that will be walking. Babies in arms don’t need a ticket. But – just to make sure you are covered – read through all of the FAQ’s on the site and give them a call if you are unsure. They are amazing!
Overall this Halloween activity in Utah is in my top 10! I absolutely loved how chill they made it for the kids, and how much fun it was. We will definitely be going back!

ABOUT THE DAY HAUNT:
“Experience Nightmare on 13th main attraction with no scares. All atmosphere. All the incredible scenry and props lit up without anything scaring you. Great for kids, families, and the Halloween loving scaredy cats out there.
Due to the nature of being a haunted house, the scenry props, and lower levels of lighting may still be scary, unsettling, or unpleasant for some.
The Nightmare on 13th Day Haunt is only on Saturdays starting September 16 and going through October 28. Get your tickets here. Be sure to read through all of the FAQ – there is a ton of information in there. And you can take pictures and vieos – so be sure to grab as much as you can. Your kids will love rewatching the videos and looking through the pictures. Halloween Cruise on the Provo River
