Delta Pilar Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Touch2O® Technology Review

I am a kitchen person. Even more than I like being on my computer (where I spend several hours a day) I really enjoy being in the kitchen. I love baking, cooking, cleaning it and everything in between. In my opinion, there are two main components that determine wither or not I enjoy being in a kitchen working. One is the accessories (spoons, cups, bowls, pans, rollers, etc) and the other is the sink/faucet.

There is nothing more annoying when trying to cook or bake or even clean than when you can’t get to the faucet, its not working right, or it just flat out is bad. I have been married for almost 10 years now and in that time we have lived in 6 different homes and apartments. In that time we have not had one quality faucet. There are two reasons, one was that we didn’t know how long we were going to be staying in that place, and the other was cost.

Now we have lived in this home for several years and when we moved in we were trying to “save money” by buying a cheap (I saw cheap because it was cheaply made) faucet from Wal-Mart (that still cost us $40)! Being a little naive as to the cost of faucets at that time (because we had never really had to buy one before) I thought that was a good deal! This faucet was standard size with a handle on top that pulled up and down to turn it on/off or side to side for cold/hot. After only about two years of normal use it started to fall apart. Pieces were breaking, there was a decrease in water pressure, etc. We had to replace the sprayer on it at less than a year. It was just cheaply made.

This was an important lesson to me. I learned that even though something might be priced cheaper, you usually get what you pay for! We lived in an apartment for three years and when we moved in the faucet was old, but never had a problem, so there really is good reason to buy quality products unless you want to replace them every couple of years, and end up spending WAY more in the long run on cheap items.

After a few months of using this cheap faucet from Wal-Mart I was at Lowes looking for a light for our bathroom and found that for not much more I could have had a nice HIGH QUALITY pull down faucet from Delta. I was pretty upset. Another lesson learned was that Wal-Mart doesn’t offer the best price on those kinds of items. I also learned that we could have afforded to put in a pull down faucet and they weren’t much more expensive than the one we bought.

The Delta faucet still looks like brand new. There are no “water stains” or deteriorating of the color where it is touched to be turned on and off. The water head still sprays like new with no build up or crud. The batteries for the Touch2O are still going strong and have shown no signs of going dead. These are just a few of the things that prove this is a high-quality product! I actually wonder how I ever survived before I got a touch faucet. I use it so much, especially when I am baking and cooking! No more having to scrub the faucet every time I handle raw chicken or cook eggs because I got them on the faucet! I don’t even touch the faucet with my hands. When my hands are dirty, I just use my arm to turn the water on and off! You will see in the video below how easy it is!

Overall I give this product a full 5 out of 5 stars! It is simply amazing. It was super easy to assemble (I actually did it by myself why my hubby installed my new sink) and the quality has just been outstanding!
