We love Christmas. It is so much fun – especially because we get to craft and create fun things to give to others. In my family, we try and focus on giving instead of getting – I think it is a great way for my kids to learn how to pay it forward and do things for others. For part of our gifts for teachers, friends and family we make really cute and fun Christmas Tree covers for Coca-Cola bottles. The bottles themselves are awesome with their festive sayings like “Share a Coke with Santa” “Share a Coke with Someone Nice” “Share a Coke with Mrs. Claus” and more! My kids love the sayings on them and how pretty the bottles are as much as I do. The fun thing about the Christmas Tree covers for the Coca-Cola bottles is that they can be used as a cute decoration after the drink is gone. You can put some festive flowers in it and use it that way or leave it without anything inside and just have a tree.
Are you ready to get started on “Spreading a Little Joy” with a sip of Coca-Cola? Here is how you can make your DIY Christmas Tree covers for Coca-Cola bottles:
Here is the printable pattern you can print out and use for your own Coca-Cola tree bottle covers. The right side goes on the open edge and the left side goes on the folded edge. You will take a full 8×12 piece of felt and fold it in half. Cut the tree pattern below out and then place it on the folded felt and trace it.
Once you have the pattern cut out, you will take your sewing machine (or use can sew it by hand) and go around the edges, just where it is marked on the pattern with the dots. The lines are where you stop and start.
You can also do something similar with a Snowman (which I am making next, and other fun holiday friends). As you can see it is pretty easy and fun to make and really make a great gift.
Once you have the tree sewn, you will slip it over the bottle. I like to put it on the bottle and then I used tacky glue to attach the little gems (ornaments) and I wrapped some felt ribbon around the bottom and tied it. The wire I just wrapped around it and then added the beads and a few “crinkles” in the wire to get them to stay in place. We used a cute star at the top to make it look like a tree star. Overall it only took about 15 minutes to make, you could do it faster if you are making them in bulk.
There are a lot of cute messages on the bottles – all of the bottles from the 2L down to the mini cans and the glass and aluminum ones all have fun messages. Be sure to pick a few up and share #SipsOfJoy with the people on your list this year.
We picked our Coca-Cola holiday bottles, in glass and aluminum, up at Target. They also have 2L bottles and the cans. Be sure to take advantage of the Carthwheel offer available right now (through 12/26/15) for 20% off any Coca-Cola product at Target! It is super easy to activate – just go here and tweet to @ShareHappiness, tag a friend and include the hashtag #SipsOfJoy. You can see below how it works.
I really love how they turned out and I can’t wait to hand them out to our friends and have the kids take them as gifts for their teachers this year. The chocolate covered pretzels are a great snack to go along with them.

What a fun idea! I think making all sorts of “shape” covers would be perfect. My kids would love decorating these and giving to teachers, family, and friends! #client
