I love Christmas. From the smallest Jingle Bell to the biggest building decked out in lights and decorations, it is something I look forward to every year. One of our family’s favorite traditions is decorating our Christmas tree. This year, it was even more fun because we have a beautiful new tree from Christmas Tree Market. It is a six foot pre lit Balsam Spruce tree with 400 clear lights. This tree sparkles and looks like we just brought it in from off of the mountain.
The tree was very easy to setup. When I pulled it out of the box, it was in three pieces, and each one was wrapped and tagged. The base was easy to put together and holds the tree well. I love the power cord because it has a foot switch to turn the lights on and off easily. There is several light strands on the tree, so you plug them into each other and into the main power cord, and there is room for a few more to be put on if you need to. Once we got the stand together, and added the pieces, it took about 10-15 minutes of “fluffing” to get the branches all spread out. The tree looks amazing. It is the best artificial Christmas tree we have owned.
We have received so many compliments on the tree. The branches are sturdy and hold up well with our decorations. We even love making our own Christmas tree decorations to put on the tree (like cranberry and popcorn garland, handmade ornaments, etc). I want to share this easy DIY Glass Ornament Tutorial. They are fun for kids and adults of all ages, and look really amazing on any tree, or hanging from ribbon as a decoration.
We found the glass ornaments at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. You can get them at most craft stores (be sure to check for a sale or coupon – we got 40-50% off). You will want to gather fun things like snow (plastic cut up to look like snow you can buy in a bag), beads, ribbon, stickers, and anything else you think your family and friends would enjoy. I have even printed pictures on vellum and rolled them to get them inside. It looks amazing.
My kids love helping make these. It is a really fun and easy way for them to make “fancy” ornaments that you can customize and label each year. Use the stickers to put their names, put pictures of them inside, etc. They also make great gifts.

We have two artificial trees and the can last 15 to 30 years! We do artificial trees because my husband likes to decorate so early that we know the tree wouldn’t last through the season. I think both are nice. I do love the smell of pine with Christmas trees but you can buy things that smell like pine to make it seem more real.
