This post is brought to you by Oriental Trading Co. All opinions are my own. I love DIY projects and crafts, especially when my kids can do them with me. Our latest project is this adorable DIY Conversation Heart Board. It is simple to put together, needing only some wood, paint, and glue. We got most of our supplies from Oriental Trading because I love all of their Valentine’s Party Supplies and Valentine’s Craft Supplies.
Here is what you need to make your DIY Conversation Heart Board:
- Unfinished square wood board
- Unfinished wood mini hearts
- Pink, blue, yellow, white and red paint
- Paintbrush(es)
- Hot glue gun and a couple extra sticks of glue
- Heart rhinestone stickers
First, you are going to get 8 of the unfinished hearts and paint them pink, blue, yellow and white (2 of each color). While those are drying, you are going to take the 6″ x 6″ wood board and paint it a light purple.
While your board is drying, your hearts should already be dry, so we can now paint the letters on them. My kids wanted to help me – so some of them turned out different, but I think it is cute. You can use a thin flat brush (or a bright or angle paintbrush), so you can just dab the marks to form the letters, or you can use a round brush and paint them freehand or even use really small stickers.
Once all of the paint has dried, you will take the glue gun and attach the wood hearts on the board and then put the stickers in the middle.
This was really fun to make and took less than an hour to put together. These would be great gifts for family, friends, neighbors and even teachers! You can get everything you need to make this fun Valentine’s Day craft and hundreds of other projects on OrientalTrading.com.
