We have shared some fun Christmas Crafts already like the DIY Card/Picture Garland and DIY Frames. Today we are sharing this super cute and easy to make DIY Wire Christmas Tree Craft. These are one of the favorite things I have made in a long time. They look great on my table and add a lot of personality without taking up a lot of space. I was able to find several of the craft supplies I used in many of the Christmas craft posts I have shared from Oriental Trading Company. For these trees, I used wire, spray paint, Christmas Cube Beads, and Christmas Jingle Bell Charms as well as some wood stars I had. I used hot glue to keep the beads and bells in place. Overall the project took me maybe 2 hours, and a good portion of that was drying time for the paint.
To start I took some wire I found out in the garage (thanks, hubby 😉 ) and I freehanded the design. I just used my hand to make the first loop (maybe a little bigger) and then with each turn I got smaller and smaller until the top was a point. I made the taller one about 12 inches and the smaller one about 6 or 7 inches high. One I had them shaped how I wanted, I took them outside (into the garage) and laid down some newspaper (or cardboard) and spray painted them. One green, and the other one gold. After they were painted I waited about 45 minutes (even though it probably didn’t take that long to dry) and I took them back inside ti add the beads and the bells. I first threaded 23 beads/bells alternating colors and styles on the large tree, and 21 on the small tree. In retrospect, I probably should have added a little more to the large one, but I really love how they turned out – so no biggie. Once you get the decorations threaded, you will use the hot glue gun, and put a small dab of glue on the wire and then slide the bead or bell over and push down for about 5 seconds. It really didn’t take long to do both trees. For the star on top, I used a wooden star that had a self-stick pad on the back. I ended up added another on to the other side, and it looks really cute!
I hope you enjoy this DIY Wire Christmas Tree Craft as much as me. They are easy and fun to make and look so cute! They make great gifts or for decorating around your home. I would love to hear about your experience making them. Be sure to check out The Oriental Trading Company. They are a great source for all things crafts. From pre-made kits that you can put together, to all the base supplies that you need to make your own creations.
