I am like a home office on the go. Every time we go out I take my laptop, tablet, phone, planner, and many other things with me because I feel like there is always a chance for me to get work done, and there usually is. Up until recently I didn’t have the “perfect” bag that I loved to take all of my items in. They were either too big, to small, uncomfortable to carry, unorganized, and many other reasons. After several years (yes years) of searching I am so excited that I finally have the perfect bag for my 17″ laptop and dozens of other things I feel the need to carry around with me – it is the ECBC Lance Executive Daypack.
From the outside this bag looks like a normal backpack – but on the inside it is a “cave of wonders”. There are three large compartments – the back (closest to your back) is where your laptop goes – into a secure and padded pocket. It fits my 17″ laptop perfectly. It is about 4 years old so it is thin but not slim like the new ones, so you don’t have to worry about that. It also has a liner you can put in the bottom if you have a smaller size laptop and don’t want it to get lost at the bottom ;).
The next compartment is as deep as the bag, and wide – which I love. I can put my tablet, planner, and charger in this pocket – as well as many other things without straining the bag or the zipper. At the top is has a mesh lined zipper pocket perfect for my pens, highlighters, whiteout tape, and more. There is also a padded secured area to put your tablet – case and all. LOVE THIS!. I am telling you – if you are looking for a bag/backpack that is perfect for traveling with a laptop, this is the bag you have been waiting for.
The front and slightly smaller compartment on the front, will take you weeks to find all of the places to put your stuff, lol. There is a zipper towards the top at the back, and below that is a place to organzie your pens, pencils, chargers, papers, and more. On the outside is a Velcro closure pocket and then another mesh lined zippered pocket (great for gum or chapstick). There may be other places in this section that I don’t know about lol. On the very front of the bag is a zippered pocket that goes almost the height of the bag and it at least 6 inches wide. this is a great quick access pocket for important papers (like a ticket).
All of the zippers are heavy duty. Not once have I had a problem (and believe I have put this bag to the test). There are two pockets (one on each side of the bag) that are great for something narrow or flat like your phone, but they unzip wide enough to hold a full size water bottle. HOW COOL! Now if all of this wasn’t enough, there is a small pocket between the back and middle compartments that is perfect for your glasses or sunglasses, or even a phone. I like to put my phone there (I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2) and it fits perfect – you know how much bigger they are then other phones. I have tested this and it works great and doesn’t damage the item that is in it.
Two of the best features of the bag still have yet to be pointed out though. The straps and the travel capabilities. The straps are heavily padded and are NOT uncomfortable to wear even on one shoulder even though I have it loaded down with just about everything you can imagine. There is also a very heavy duty gripped handle that is nice for picking the backpack up and comfortable if I have to hold it. They built this bag for people who are on the go, and that includes flying. The back compartment where your laptop goes, unzips completely allowing you to open it up so that it is like an open book. This allows you to go through security quickly without having to pull your laptop out – which is very annoying as I have had to do this several times myself.
If all of that didn’t convince you 🙂 here are a few more details:
