I was very luck to be part of an amazing group that was able to go prior to the official opening and have a tour of the Eccles Primary Children’s Outpatient Services Building. I am very familiar with Primary Children’s and the services and staff are outstanding. I am really excited about the new Eccles Outpatient Building and everything it will offer.
Located directly across the street from Primary Children’s Hospital, you can actually get to it by walking across the amazing skybridge.
Here are a few more of the great features that will be available:
A Kids Clubhouse where you can check your kids into a secured (locked) room where they are supervised by a group of “sitters”. When you check them in, you are given a pager similar to those you would get at a restaurant and they can page you if you need to come down. Your kids have to be potty trained. It is ideally for children ages 3-12. You can drop off the kids that are not being seen by the doctor so you can focus on that appointment and your child. LOVE THIS!
The Mountainside Cafe is amazing! The food that we had was prepared in house and tasted gourmet. It will have a pizza oven, Gelato and more! Look and how good the food was when we were there. YUM YUM YUM!
I love that the exam rooms have benches in them. This is really convenient for so many reasons. If you have ever had to squeeze more than two people into an exam room, or have to wait for a while and want a comfortable chair – you will understand what I mean. This is a great addition!
This beautiful lobby is what will greet you when you first go in. You go to the left to get to the elevators and rooms. To the right is the cafeteria, and dining area, and straight ahead is the Kids Corner. There is so much here and you will love exploring every inch of it!
The new building has six levels (including the basement) and is home to some 41 departments and services including Cardiology, Behavioral Health, Lab, and many others. The finished building will have pockets of unfinished space, allowing for future growth. The new facility will also have a café and outdoor sitting areas.
We got to meet Boo-Boo the Bear. He was on the construction set of the Eccles Outpatient Center everyday for the Kids at The Primary Children’s Hospital to find. It quickly became a fun game that even the workers got into. This bear is iconic! 😀
Another thing I loved walking around and looking at was the art and designs. There is a beautiful Muriel on the third floor
You will love the views from the upper levels. I was just in awe.
It was a great night and I am so glad that I got to be a part of it.
Thank you to Today’s Mama and Primary Children’s Hospital for putting this amazing event together. Also thank you to the great sponsors for the night.
