I love the Christmas season. It is so fun to decorate and get into the spirit of Christmas. One thing I love to do with my kids is an advent calendar to countdown the days until Christmas day. This year, I got a frame with chicken wire from Oriental Trading. I love how it looks, and so I decided to make it into a Farmhouse advent calendar and then use it for a background to some hanging vases (tutorial for that in January).
To make your Farmhouse Advent Calendar, you will need the following:
- Chicken Wire Frame
- Mini Craft Bags
- Mini Clothes Pins
- Twine
- Letter numbers
- Print out these advent calendar ideas or write your own
This is so easy to put together. Just print out (or make your own) challenges and activities to put into the little bags. If you don’t know where to start, there are a couple of options below to get you started (or print out the ones we made).
We just shared Daily spiritual/service ideas for kids that would be perfect for this. You can pick and choose as many as you would like to use and put them in the days you know you will be able to get them done. (plan ahead)
Or we are sharing a printable daily advent calendar ideas that we used. I modified them slightly because the ones we used were very personalized. Either way, I know that you are and your family will be able to find several fun things to do and enjoy together. You can add things like going out to eat, getting ice cream, etc.
I would love to hear what ideas you used and how your family likes their advent calendar. This can be a great way to bring everyone together and spend quality time at least once a day, lol.
If you are looking for some fun things for kids you can print out these crafts below:
