We were able to screen the movie in order to make this Marvel Studios Eternals parents guide. All opinions are my own.
Eternals brings us a whole other line of superheroes. It really is unlike any other Marvel movie that has ever been made. Don’t go into this movie thinking you will know what is going to happen. There are so many twists and turns you will be left guessing until the very end. Even with a runtime of roughly two and a half hours, there is no downtime. The story doesn’t drag. In fact, I would have been ok with it being a little longer and getting some more background on certain storyline points. I hope that these are explored in later movies.
Eternals is a great new addition to the MCU and I am excited to see where this new phase takes us! I would recommend this movie for ages 12+ but I would take my 10-year-old to see it because she has seen every other Marvel movie.
Eternal Parents Guide
Eternals is rated PG-13 for fantasy violence and action, some language, and brief nudity.
It runs for 2 hours and 37 minutes
There are TWO Eternals end credit scenes. STAY UNTIL THE VERY END!
Sex & Nudity – There is a sex scene. Man on top of a woman – they are topless (obviously). Man’s arm covers the boob area, but still pretty revealing and lasts for about 8-10 seconds. A couple of intense kissing scenes between a man and a woman. Two guys kissing. There is a scene with some dancing (Bollywood style).
Violence & Gore – A lot of fighting. There is the use of guns, swords, knives, and other weapons. One of the main characters shoots beams out of his eyes.
Profanity – Not too much. 1 or 2 uses each of Shit, Hell, Ass, and a couple of others. A few uses of God (paired with other words).
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking – A few scenes of drinking. One in a bar.
Frightening & Intense Scenes – The Deviants may scare younger viewers. There are some intense fighting scenes with the fighting and other storyline events.
