I couldn’t wait to share my Captain Marvel review. I am just blown away, and overly anxious for Avengers: Endgame now more than ever (thanks to a stellar end credits scene).
I was able to watch Captain Marvel yesterday at an early press screening. It is so good, I already bought tickets to go see it again with my hubby! Do you have your tickets yet? The movie comes out this weekend in theaters everywhere! Here is what I thought…
Our Captain Marvel review
I have seen several trailers, so I thought I knew what I was going into – but there is so much more to this movie. You get to know more than just who Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) and her history with the Kree. Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) is another main character in this movie that not only brings a lot to the screen, but we also get his backstory as well.
Other characters you will get to know more about:
- Agent Coulson (played by Clark Gregg)
- Ronan (played by Lee Pace)
- Mar-Vel (played by Annette Bening)
- Yon-Rogg (played by Jude Law)
- Talos (played by Ben Mendelsohn)
- Maria Rambeau (played by Lashana Lynch)
All of these characters are integral to the story, and you won’t want to miss 1 minute of it, or you will likely find yourself trying to guess and play catch-up the rest of the time.
The mystery over what happened to Nick Furry’s eye is revealed as well! DON’T be in a hurry to leave after the movie. There are TWO end credit scenes. The last one is a huge lead-in to Avengers: Endgame that comes out soon! (the 26 of April to be exact).
Overall we give the movie a 10/10
Things you need to know about the movie:
- FIGHTING: There is a lot of fighting in the movie, action, and some intense scenes.
- GORE: There is also some blood shown human and alien (blue colored).
- LANGUAGE/SEX: There is very little if any language and no promiscuity.
- ALCOHOL: There are minor scenes shown with some alcohol.
- SPOILER (the cat can be a little creepy towards the end when they are on the ship fighting)
Recommended ages for viewing:
I honestly feel like if your kids have seen ANY of the other Marvel movies, you will be fine! This is a really clean, great family-friendly film. Based on your kids’ experience you will need to judge, but I would say at least 6 and older just to be able to follow the storyline.
