Last week I had the amazing opportunity to go to Google HQ (the actual Googleplex – which is the global headquarters for all of Google) and it was such a great experience! Aside from the obvious coolness of just being able to walk around the campus, we also go to meet and visit with some amazing people and learn more about Disney Jr.’s Miles From Tomorrowland. Among these people was Sascha Paladino, (MILES FROM TOMORROWLAND Creator & Executive Producer) and Dr. Yvonne Cagle, (NASA Astronaut & Consultant on Miles from Tomorrowland). This is really cool because it is World Space Week where we “celebrate each year at the international level the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition”. You can read more about that here.
As a mom of four, it was a great experience to listen to Sascha and Dr. Cagle talk about the Miles from Tomorrowland show and hear more about their inspirations for the episodes and their desires for the messages it is sending.
I will be sharing another post with more information about what they talked about on the panel, but part of it was about the new Miles from Tomorrowland episodes that will be airing starting this Saturday! For the next 7 weeks you will be able to watch new Miles from Tomorrowland episodes paired with new “Captain Jake and the Neverland Pirates” episodes. These will air on the Disney Channel at 8:30 am ET/PT. This Saturday’s Halloween-themed episode is “Ghost Moon / Stormy Night in a Dark Nebula”
“Ghost Moon” – The Callistos are sent to investigate eerie sightings on a dark moon.
“Stormy Night in a Dark Nebula” – The Callistos enter a dark nebula and find some spooky inhabitants.”
If you haven’t had a chance to watch Miles from Tomorrowland yet, now is the time to start. With these new episodes and their fun Halloween-theme you will love them. To me this show is a great example of what is out there for my kids. I am very tech oriented – working on computers all day – and I want my kids to see that and know they can be anything they want and I will be there to help them and teach them.

You can see here who we were able to talk to and meet and listen to about the show. Sascha Paladino is the creator and executive producer of Miles from Tomorrowland and he is so great. He really understands the importance of technology in this day and age and how important it is for our kids to be able to utilize it and create whatever their minds can dream. I also enjoyed visiting with Dr. Cagle and learning from her. She is an Astronaut and works as NASA’s Johnson Space Center Space and Life Sciences Directorate and Consultant for the Miles from Tomorrowland show.
This was such a great experience and I am so happy that I was able to be part of it. Being able to go to Google HQ was amazing, but throwing on top of the the people that we met and the things we did and it was just surreal. Get ready because for the next seven weeks starting this Saturday October 10th, there will be new episodes of “Miles from Tomorrowland” paired with new episodes of “Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates. The episodes will premiere on Saturday mornings beginning at 8:00AM on Disney Channel and are included in a catch-up marathon on October 31. I know my kids are going to love watching that! What a great way to spend the day 🙂
