I love National Geographic Kids books! They are so fun to read with my kiddos and I am excited to be working with them to bring you this fun National Geographic Kids Books Giveaway to celebrate Earth Day!
Earth Day is the perfect day to show Mother Earth how grateful we are for her. I LOVE gardening, animals, nature, visiting National Parks, and so many other things that celebrate this beautiful world we live in. These books cover so many different areas and I have really loved reading them with my kids. Their favorite ones are Hey Baby! and 100 Ways to Make the World Better. But let’s be honest – they are all fantastic! I also love the Plants book because we just planted seed starters and it’s fun to learn more about them and how they are growing.
Here are the books you will have the chance to win
National Geographic Kids Books
Destiny Finds Her Way
Destiny must learn to be strong and confident after she loses the use of one of her eyes. Without her mother to protect her or teach her, Destiny is found and taken to a rescue center in Costa Rica. The little sloth soon befriends other orphaned sloths. Her poor eyesight, however, makes it hard for her to keep her balance. Eventually Destiny begins to use all of her senses to explore the world around her. But can she learn to climb? Can she master the other skills she needs to survive on her own? And will Destiny be brave enough to return to her wild, forest home?
Hey, Baby!: A Collections of Pictures, Poems and Stories from Nature’s Nursery
Sweet dreams are made of this! Join National Geographic Kids on a trip around the globe to celebrate nature’s nursery. Get up close to adorable baby animals — from the teensiest turtle hatchling to the biggest baby whales; from black bear cubs frolicking free in the Rocky Mountains to a kangaroo joey lounging safely in its mother’s pouch. Readers will ooh and aah over the cute baby pictures, sweet stories, folktales, and poems in this lovely keepsake book. Ideal for reading to sleepy little ones!
Water! Why Every Drop Counts and How You Can Start Making Waves to Protect it
No doubt about it, water is fascinating! It’s also essential. Every living thing on Earth needs it, from big blue whales to teeny, tiny bacteria. But our planet is facing some serious water problems: Drinkable water isn’t easily accessible to everyone, the demands for water around the globe are increasing while the supply is limited, and some human actions are causing disastrous ripple effects downstream for ecosystems and the animals that live in them.
Fortunately, there is hope! And that’s where this book comes in. By learning the ins and outs of important water issues and making small but powerful changes in our daily life, we can help protect the water that connects us all on our beautiful blue planet.
This Book Stinks!: Gross Garbage, Rotten Rubbish and the Science of Trash
Get up close and personal with a wonderful world of waste. From composting and recycling, to landfills and dumps, to how creative people are finding new ways to reuse rubbish. It’s fun to talk trash when it’s jam-packed with infographics, thematic spreads, wow-worthy photos, sidebars, serious stats, and fabulous facts. Also included are quizzes and activities to inspire kids to take action, be proactive, and rethink the things we throw away.

- Other amazing wild cats
- How lions communicate
- And more
Young readers will also find out why lions need our help and what people around the world are doing to protect them. Filled with fun facts, awesome photos, games, and activities that will inspire kids to care about these amazing animals.
100 Ways to Make the World Better
Who says kids can’t change the world? If they’ve got the will, Nat Geo Kids can guide the way, with doable activities, hands-on projects, advice from National Geographic explorers, interviews with experts, weird-but-true facts, and more inspiration. Actions can be as easy as carrying a resuable water bottle to avoid wasting plastic or planting a tree to help the ecosystem. Ideas are presented as simple concepts with engaging graphics and photographs, and many are followed by detailed supporting information. Kids get a sense of their own power to make a difference and an understanding of what actions contribute to postive outcomes. Sometimes all it takes is starting with something simple, and before you know it, together we’ve reshaped our planet for the better.
