City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah just got a whole lot more fun. A new American Girl Doll store just opened and it is “amazing” as my 6-year-old daughter put it. She ran from display to display for over an hour looking at every little thing, commenting on every detail. Little did she know she was going to be picking an American Girl Doll of her own to take home for her birthday 🙂 This was the first time we had been in an American Girl store that my kids could remember, and now they keep asking to go back. We were invited to a media event and received free product. All opinions are my own.
Dolls, accessories, ideas, movies, books and more will have your kids’ eyes big and leave you with a smile on your face. This fun magical place is only here until about the end of January or so, and then it will be disappearing with the snow. Don’t miss your chance to take your kids there and explore the store. The holidays are coming up soon and it is a great place to pick up some things on their wish list. Take them in for a visit and get an idea of what their favorites are, then you can go back later and pick them up.
There are so many displays, and they are organized so great, with all of their favorites where the kids can see them and pick out what they want. I love that they have it set up for kids so they can enjoy it as much as the adults.
When it was about time to go, we told my daughter that she could pick out any doll she wanted to take home. It took her a while to decide which one she wanted, but she ended up choosing Tenney.
The 18″ Tenney doll has light brown eyes that open and close, freckles on her nose, and long, curly blond hair. Tenney’s unique hand positioning helps her hold her guitar, banjo, and pick! She arrives in a graphic tee, denim vest, faux-leather skirt, and ankle boots. Also included are a woven bracelet and the Tenney paperback book.

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I was so excited to see that they were bringing a store to SLC, even if it’s only temporary. It’s so much better to see the items in person. I also loved how it was arranged so that kids could handle and play with the displays. 🙂 We just need them to open a permanent store now!
