I know I am not alone in my desire to keep my phone and other devices protected. I have been through a lot of phones and devices over the last 15 years and so I know what separates the merely good cases from the best cases. You want a case that will protect your phone or tablet from just about anything – and believe me – I have put my phone through it all. Multiple layers, shock absorbency, and screen protection. The new OtterBox Samsung Galaxy S5 case we just got – didn’t disappoint – it help up to my expectations.
Here is how you will get your OtterBox Case – I love the packaging as well – it is easy to get into and lets you see what you are getting so you don’t have to pull everything out of the box first.
Once out of the box – you can see the case and the holster compared to the phone. It really isn’t that much bigger. I have heard people say – oh that adds a lot of bulk to your phone – but it really doesn’t and for the kind of protection you are getting – it is worth losing that 1/2 CM.
I love how the inside of the case has a foam type of protection there. This helps adsorb shock if the phone is dropped or bumped. The orange part is a hard plastic case – the top cover has a built in screen protector. The black thing – is a really strong rubberized outer shell that protects the phone when dropped or bumped.
You can see how perfect the phone fits inside the case.
The top part of the case just secures on with the little clasps. They click together. When taking the case apart you have to use like your fingernail to pop the clasp apart in a few different places. It can be tricky the first time – but its really not hard. The case is not “super” tight on the phone, but rather fits snugly – so there isn’t any damage to the phone or the case. Its a perfect fit.
With the outter shell on – the phone not only looks amazing – but it feels great. I love how responsive the phone is still through the screen protector. There are built in buttons on the side of the phone for the volume and the power- and the top and bottom have protective covers for the sound jack and the usb port. You do have to pull the cover out to charge your phone – but on a normal day how often to you do this? Probably once – so it’s not a big deal. The case does not have a “sticky” feel to it like you have seen with the cheap rubberized cases – but it is smooth and doesn’t stick or have things stick to it. I put mine in my pocket all the time and it doesn’t’ come out covered in link.
This is the back view of the phone with the case on. You can see how there is an opening for the speaker and for the camera and flash. You can also see a better idea of the covers for the sound jack and the usb charger port. The Camo looks AWESOME!
Here is a side view of the phone and you can see the orange indent there in the middle – that is where the case secures into the belt clip – and it really does a good job – my hubby where’s his like that all the time and has never had it fall out.
I am telling you honestly that I will not trust my phones or tablets to any brand of cases but OtterBox. There are many reasons and many instances to back this up. I will only lay out a few. First of all, OtterBox gives you three amazing layers of protection. A built in screen protector, a hard case and then the outer rubberized case. This combination protected my Note2 over and over from falls off varying Heights (as far up as 6 feet to cement) and impact and liquid. If does not make it water proof but the case keeps the screen protected from stray drops that may fall on the phone .
We just got a new Samsung Galaxy S5 and we are loving the phone. I am also thoroughly enjoying the Camouflage S5 OtterBox case that is on it. We were honestly afraid to use it for the first week before the case came. That is how much I trust OtterBox.
