We received a unit for review. All opinions are my own. My kids love watching PBS, but we don’t have cable and our antenna doesn’t pick up too much. I have an app on my phone and on my tablet that they love to hi-jack and watch whenever they can, so I was almost as excited as my kids when we found out about the PBS Plug & Play. The Plug & Play is a device that plugs right into your TV through the USB port and connects to your wi-fi. It does have to also be plugged into a power outlet. Once everything is hooked up (which took just a couple of minutes) my kids were having so much fun watching shows, playing games and more! I have had more fun watching them play the games (especially when it wants them to act like a specific animal) – it is hilarious.
We don’t have a paid TV service and our antenna doesn’t always pick up the fabulous PBS 24/7 channel, so this is something that my kids love to use. All of their favorite shows are available at the click of a button and I love that the shows are educational and family friendly. This is something your kids are going to love finding under the tree on Christmas morning!
Not only is it great at home, but for when we are traveling as well. I always worry because I am not sure what kind of channels the TV’s in our rooms will have. I love connecting our Plug & Play and having peace of mind that the kids are watching something good or able to play a game together.
You can get the PBS Plug & Play online and at most retailers in-store. We have enjoyed it so much, and I know that every household with kids can and will benefit from having this and the PBS KIDS Playtime Pad. A great way to support your local PBS station — in this case, KPBS in San Diego. Very interesting for PBS viewers like us. But we need more PBS shows for tweens too!!! #PBSNEWS
