We love animals. My husband and I were both raised with pets, and we want to pass that love of animals on to our kids, so we have always had pets. We got our cat almost 12 years ago and our dog almost 3 years ago. Both are as much a part of our family as our kids – loved and spoiled. Because we love animals so much we want to see all animals have a good home. That is why we support the PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend . There will be one this weekend – November 13 through 15, 2015. If you are looking for unconditional love, lots of kisses and a great friend then you need to head out to a PetSmart store this weekend and find a new fury friend to take home. Use the PetSmart Store Locator to find one near you.

The PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend is a three day event that is help four times a year, and there are more than 15,000 companion pets that find their forever home during each National Adoption Weekend. They host a large selection of dogs and cats, all of which are available for adoption in all participating PetSmart stores in North America. Because PetSmart Charities is a 501(c)(3) organization, you can rest assured that they are animal lovers that are committed to ending pet homelessness. This is shown through them investing in more than 3,000 animal warfare groups across North America. Because of the PetSmart Adoption program, more than 400,000 dogs and cats find homes each year through PetSmart and sponsored adoption events. They have found lifelong loving homes for more than 6 million pets. That is one out of every 10 pet adoptions in North America that the PetSmart adoption program has helped. Are you ready to Find A Pet?
Mark it on your calendar (or phone) that this weekend is the PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend. Call ahead to have your questions answered regarding exact times and availability of specific pets (there will be adoptable dogs and cats at the event). Animal welfare organizations, including local humane societies, will be on-site. Each group sets its own adoption application policies and fees (which typically include spay/neuter surgery, vaccination, microchips, etc.), so it will vary among stores. If you have any questions or need assistant with the the adoption process., don’t hesitate to ask the staff and volunteers at each location.
Adopting a pet is such a great thing. It not only gives you a new friend in your life to love and be around, but it also gives that animal a chance at a new life, with a good owner and having a life of love and laughter. My kids have learned so much about how to care for animals, why they are special and how to be soft and kind. Not only does that help them around other animals, but it also helps them be more kind and loving. If you adopt this weekend, share your story with PetSmart Charities (click here). I would also love for you to come back and let me know about your experience and share a picture of your new friend!
