Review/Giveaway: Newman’s Own Organic Food & Pet Food

Newman’s Own Organics foods are very good! I had no idea that there were so many yummy foods that are organic. Prior to trying these, I had not ever really tried anything but organic fruits and vegetables. We were sent a huge box of organic snacks to try out. It included everything from mints to cookies to pretzels to caramel cups. For the most part, there really wan’t anything that we didn’t like. Some of the items had a little bit different taste to them. It wasn’t a bad taste, just different from what we are used to eating with the other items that we normally buy.

I was very surprised at how yummy the chocolate is. Newman’s Own Organics Chocolate is so good and “natural” tasting. The chocolate bars as especially yummy. These are great to make cake pops with. The Caramel, Peppermint and Peanut Butter Cups were great. I am glad that there were three in each package! Very Yummy!

By far, the family favorite was the Hermit Cookies. These are sooooo good! Even if you don’t eat organic food, you will love these. I thought that most of the other cookies were good, but a little more “dry” than what I am used to. BUT, this was a problem easily remedied with a glass of milk

The pretzels were great, you couldn’t even tell a difference in the traditional flavored pretzels. The other bag we received, the Honey Wheat Pretzels were a little crunchier than we are used too, but they still tasted good.  The mints were great. I would say they were just as good as the altoids (except not as hard), with a variety of flavors. They also come in a tin which I like.

The bags of dried fruit were good. The taste was similar to of brands of dried fruit we have tried, but these are better for us and the price is comparable!

I also LOVED the licorice. There is really no comparison to its popular rivals. Newman’s Own Organics licorice is simply the best. The flavors are great, and the licorice itself is “quality”. This was the first thing to go. (yup, all three packages!)

Overall, I have a changed opinion about organic foods. While the taste is not the same as all of the other brands of foods that we used to buy, the taste is still good. It’s like comparing chocolate ice cream to vanilla ice cream. While they don’t taste the same, they are both similar and both are yummy.

I also received cat food and dog food to try out. My cat is very picky when it comes to his food. He has only had one or two brands in his almost 10 years of life, and he tried the Newman’s Own cat food, and he continued eating it. This was his way of telling me that he liked it. So the Newman’s Own cat food gets “paws” up.
