I went grocery shopping at Smiths yesterday 2/25/12. The store had plenty of everything in stock so I was excited. Most of the cookies got put into the pantry (cold storage) so we can take them with us camping over the summer. unfortunately, our store does not double coupons, so the amount we saved was more than what it could have been. Either way, we still saved 60% on our shopping trip.!
It was SO funny, when I was checking out, the guy behind me was only buying a case of beer and a pack of gum…he stood there and watched while the checker rang everything through, then as I handed my stack of coupons over…I looked at him and smiled and apologized that it was taking so long and he just waved his hands like no worries…about half way through the cashier ringing the coupons through, he looked at me and said ‘Man, I feel like I am on episode of one of those coupon shows’! It was all I could do to not burst into laughter. I didn’t think I was that bad…lol. I smiled and laughed and said sorry again. Have you had a funny experience like this? Please share it in the comments!
Last night I posted a contest on the UtahCouponDeals facebook page:

The one that guessed the closet to how much we spent was…
Ardy H. guessed $63.00! She was almost head on!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Ardy, email me at UtahCouponDeals at Gmail dot Com to claim your inserts!
Now onto the details of the shopping trip:
My total BEFORE Coupons was $156.60
I used $31.93 in Manufacturer Coupons (almost all of the coupons were from the newspaper inserts, this essentially paid for about half of one of my 1 year subscriptions to the newspaper, in just one trip!)
(since we don’t get to double coupons here, the savings are not as great, but this is still great savings for this area! I am excited.)
I got $52.41 off for the Fresh Values Savings
I got (5) $2 catalinas
Total Paid $62.26 (savings of 60%)

Congrats! Don’t you love it when people notice. I was in the grocery with my coupon binder opened across the child seat this week. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a man watching me. When I looked up he asked, “Are all those pages full of coupons?!?” “Well, most of them.” “Really there is just coupons in that notebook?” I smiled and again said, “Yes, we have 2 kids in college and 4 at home and it is one way I help pay the college tuition.” “Way to go” he said.
