Between the heat of the sun and the effects is has on your skin, you will want to be sure to protect your skin by using a skin care routine this summer! Even just a few minutes in the morning and at night, and when you are going to be spending a lot of time outdoors (like swimming, on the beach, or fishing).
Summer Skin Care Routine
In the morning you will want to rinse your face with a gentle cleanser or facial wipe, then apply a moisturizer with SPF. While you might think that the “color” you get from not wearing sun screen looks good, you can still get a great tan WITH sunscreen and protect your tender skin at the same time.
If you are going to be wearing makeup, you will want to these these.
Be sure to apply sunscreen everywhere when going outside for more than 20 minutes. In my opinion, wearing sunscreen not only protects your skin from harmful rays, but it also keeps your skin from drying out and gives you a nice tan color instead of a lobster look that will most likely peel and flake. (its not pretty, trust me). They even offer up Spray Sunscreen that is fast and effective. (We use this for our kids).
In addition to adapting a skin care routine, other ways to keep your skin healthy during the summer are:
- Drink lots of water and keep your body hydrated. This not only helps you feel better and have more energy, but you will eat less, and your skin will not be as dry.
- Be sure to eat a well balanced diet. Don’t fill your body full of junk all the time and expect to have a glowing complexion. Some foods you will want to include in your everyday diet are Green Veggies, Nuts, Whole Grains, and Fish (for the Omega-3). Also be sure you are eating enough fiber, as it will promote this.
- Keep your stress levels down. Managing your stress will not only reduce you from scowling (lol) which leads to wrinkles, but it is essential for your body to function healthily. Make lists, get on a medication, go for walks, read a book. Whatever you have to do to relieve some of the stress.
If you have other Skin Care tips and suggestions I would love to hear them. REALLY 🙂

You nailed it. Preventing the sun damage is key. Using products with spf in them acts as a barrier against the sun. I have recently became a consultant for Arbonne which used products that are healthy, botanically based, and inspired by nature. I would love to share samples of this great line. They’re moisturizer and foundation both have SPF 20 and 15 respectively, so you’re getting double the protection. Additionally, eating clean food makes you feel good from the inside out! You are what you eat! Check out my journey of transforming my life at slimpossible28days.blogspot.com
