I took my family to go see DisneyNature’s Born in China last week and we all fell in love with the cute baby animals. The Panda Bears were my daughter’s favorite and my son’s favorite was Tao Tao the monkey. They really enjoyed the movie so we decided to do a fun craft to remember the pandas. You can read our review of the movie here.
In the spirit of Easter, we used a big egg filled with treats and then wrapped crepe paper around it over and over to create the head. Just wrap the crepe paper streamer around and around, keeping it fairly tight until you have the shape you want. Use clear tape to tape down several spots around the circle so that the paper doesn’t slip off. We used black cardstock for the eyes and nose and black pipe cleaner for the ears. To make the ears, you will take a pipe cleaner and roll it into a spiral. I secured the end by hooking the very tip. We had some gems leftover from another project so we used those as the eyes. I really love how they turned out! It was easy enough for my 5 and 7-year-olds to make one on their own and they had so much fun doing it!
We used black cardstock for the eyes and nose. I just freehanded the eye shape and nose shape and then we traced and used them for all of them. For the ears, we used a black pipe cleaner. We had some gems leftover from another project so we used those as the eyes. To attach the eyes and nose you can use glue dots, hot glue or even double sided tape (or rolled tape).

These Surprise Ball Panda Bear Crafts are super fun for kids to make and would be great for a craft night or even for a party. If you are planning a party with Panda Bears, this is a must have item. They are inexpensive to make and super cute and fun with the treats inside.

I love surprise balls but usually they have trinkets throughout the wrapped ball. This is much less messy.
