#advertisement I received compensation from Dr. Scholl’s® to write this post. All opinions are entirely my own. #CustomFitRelief #DrScholls I am the youngest in my family by several years, and so this gave me a rare opportunity to really see what Christmas is all about. Watching my parents and older siblings serve those around us and not be concerned with what presents they got. It taught me a lot and that is something that I want to pass on to my kids…service.
Service is a great way to spread the Christmas spirit and there are so many different things you can do. From helping neighbors with yard work like raking leaves and mowing lawns to get ready for winter, to taking cookies or treat plates around, there are so many ways serve. I played sports growing up, and I still feel the effects on my knees and back. Even though my body feels like I am a lot older than I am, I still push through it and do what I can. I have been looking for a solution so that my back and knees didn’t hurt as much, and while I was shopping at Walmart, I found the Dr. Scholl’s® Custom Fit® Orthotic Inserts kiosk.
I stepped onto the Custom Fit® kiosk and started my evaluation. It was really easy to do and it uses over 2,000 pressure sensors to create a Custom Footmap – identifying your arch type, foot length, and unique pressure points. In under 2 minutes, the kiosk evaluates all this data and recommends the Custom Fit® Orthotic Inserts that are right for you! I had to stand on one foot, and then the other, and then both together as it evaluated my stance.
At the end, I got the recommended orthotic and have been using them for the last several days. I am amazed at the difference I have felt. Try Custom Fit® Orthotics risk-free, with the Dr. Scholl’s® Money Back Guarantee, plus, save $10 on your purchase!
The holiday season is a great time of the year. In fact, October to December may just be my favorite time of year. The holidays, birthdays, and the wonderful opportunity to do some real good with service. I teach my kids that service can be done anytime, anywhere, but during the holidays, there are just so many extra ways to serve others, that it is a great time to talk about not only service but the real meaning of Christmas.
Giving of not only material things but also of ourselves. It’s not about what you get, but what you give. It was in this spirit that I have been taking my kids out and having them help me do small things. My Dr. Scholl’s® Custom Fit® Orthotic Inserts have been a lifesaver for me. Here are some ideas of ways you and your family can serve:
- Rake the leaves
- mow the grass
- pull weeds and help clean out the garden
- offer to help hang Christmas lights
- take a treat plate
- take a meal
- gather lightly used toys and clothes and donate them
- volunteer at a soup kitchen, food pantry or another similar place
- shovel snow from the driveway/sidewalks
- walk their pets
- offer to babysit so they can go Christmas shopping or on a date
- go caroling
- give out hot chocolate
While doing these acts of service for others, it helps remind us of how blessed we are. At the end of the day, I used to complain about my back and feet hurting, but I have been able to get more done and my body feels better too. That means we get to focus on what is really important – like family and service – instead of an achy body.
What are some things you do with your family to spread the Christmas spirit? Whatever you choose to do, make sure you get a pair of the Dr. Scholl’s® Custom Fit® Orthotic Inserts and start the holiday season off the right way. Your feet will thank you 😉

My husband would benefit greatly from this custom I wish we had a Dr. Scholl’s kiosk in the mall so I can take my husband there and get some personalized inserts.

Christmas is so much more than shopping and gifts. It’s so great your family comes together to remember this.

I really try to show my kids that the true meaning of Christmas is taking care of your community, family and friends. It is a time to reflect on the year and celebrate all of the wonderful things in life…including yummy cookies! 😉

This is a great time to teach kids to give back to the community, and be helpful. I am glad that these shoe inserts work for you. I wear sneakers every day yet I am still finding my footware to be barely comfortable. I need something like this.

Dr Scholl’s custom fit is perfect for people on the go and I think it’s something that active kids need! It’s definitely a must have! I love that you’re teaching your kids about the real meaning of Christmas, it feels as if it is often forgotten.

Spreading the real meaning during holidays I think is super important. Too many kids nowadays just think it’s a day to get get get and not give give give. We don’t celebrate over here, but I did growing up. My favorite part was always decorating and having dinner with the family. The presents were great too but that’s not all I looked forward to.

We are making gift baskets for two beautiful women who have come under rough times. We are also sending Christmas cards to some who may not receive any if we did not. My son walks every where and helps with service any time he can nomatter the season. He also is the one in need of Dr. Scholl’s custom inserts.
