I don’t remember the last time I had this much fun on a night out with my husband. We get to sneak off every once in a while to go to a movie and maybe dinner, (if we can find a babysitter for that long for our four kids), but The Dinner Detective was so much better. I love ready mystery novels (and have read my fair share of murder mysteries) so I was very excited to go and see this interactive murder mystery dinner show.
The Dinner Detective
When we got there, we checked in and then we had to make up names to wear. (This is important). I was Princess Leah – lol – and my husband was – – – – Hulk Luke – – – – lolol – He was Hulk – then saw that I wrote princess leah so he added Luke on the end. Funny guy! LOL.
The show was very funny. It is definitely not for kids (which are not even allowed – there is an age limit). The actors and actresses involved did such a great job of keeping the audience not only entertained but active and including them in everything. We were given information and “clues” to look over and we were to use that to come up with who we thought the killer was. We figured it out about 2/3 way through the show – but it wasn’t obvious. The audience is really key in making the show fun or not. The people that were there we night we went were very funny. Everyone got into it and had a great time.
“Just be Careful! Everyone’s a suspect, even you, and the killer might be at your table!”
The food was great and the dessert was even better! There is water on the tables and if you wanted something else to drink they had a bar in the room. You were served the food, and they also had people that came through and kept your table cleaned up.
This is the infamous body outline from the girl that was murdered during the show. (Don’t ask about the underwear…and yes, Clint put that there to be funny, which it is, lol). The tables are are scattered throughout the room, and the actors and and actresses do most of the show in the center of the room, but they move in and out and interact with the audience. There were some twists and surprises that really throw you, so you have to be paying attention.
The cast of the show was amazing. They were not only very good but also very funny and personable. You leave the show feeling like you know them (their character) and you even get a chance to meet them afterwards and talk to them and take pictures.
We have been to a lot of places in Salt Lake, and The Dinner Detective was definitely one of my favorites. If you are looking for a fun night out (girls night out, guys night out, or date night, or even just to go and meet new people) you will LOVE this!
