This post is in partnership with the Disney Book Group. All opinions are my own.
My kids and I are fans of Percy Jackson and The Heroes of Olympus so we naturally wanted to read The Trials of Apollo. The first three books were great and we have been waiting for book 4 to come out. The Trials of Apollo: The Tyrants Tomb by Rick Riordan is another great book to add to our collection.
I have very much enjoyed this series, and I am sure it is because it is told from Apollo’s point of view. He really struggles with not having his Godly powers and his narrative about his disappointing reality is hilarious.
I also love that Mr. Riordan incorporates favorite characters from previous stories so it ties them together better. There is a lot of diversity in the books so everyone can relate to someone in the stories. You also get some really great villains and a lot of suspense as well as humor and love. There is a reason Rick Riordan’s last 20 books have all debuted at #1 on the NEW-YORK TIMES best-sellers list.
The book keeps you entertained, engaged and leaves you wanting even more! It is honestly hard to find authors that can do that with a series, and I am so glad that Mr. Riordan has that talent.

a Rafflecopter giveawayAbout The Trials of Apollo series
After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. He lands in New York City as a mortal teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus’s favor.
Synopsis of The Tyrant’s Tomb
In his penultimate adventure, a devastated but determined Apollo travels to Camp Jupiter, where he must learn what it is to be a hero, or die trying.
It’s not easy being Apollo, especially when you’ve been turned into a human and banished from Olympus. On his path to restoring five ancient oracles and reclaiming his godly powers, Apollo (aka Lester Papadopoulos) has faced both triumphs and tragedies.
Now his journey takes him to Camp Jupiter in the San Francisco Bay Area, where the Roman demigods are preparing for a desperate last stand against the evil Triumvirate of Roman emperors. Hazel, Reyna, Frank, Tyson, Ella, and many other old friends will need Apollo’s aid to survive the onslaught. Unfortunately, the answer to their salvation lies in the forgotten tomb of a Roman ruler… someone even worse than the emperors Apollo has already faced.
