My son just turned 6. It was a great day filled with fun and excitment. We wanted to do something special for him that he loves and enjoys, so we planned a tool party where he and his friends could build something. We are huge fans of Lowes Build and Grow program and loved the idea of letting the kids put together their own car with their own tools and having a fun usable car to play with when they were done. Lowes has pullback cars as part of their Build and Grow items you can purchase, and so we knew that is what we where going with.
We got sets for everyone that came, a Lowes Build and Grow apron, hammer, googles, screw driver set, and a car kit. For the first part of the party we had a fun meal and opened presents and then we cleaned the table off and got everything set up. The younger kids (about 4-5 years old needed a little help but they were able to hammer in most of the nails, and the other kids ages 6+ were able to do it all alone. They went to town building their own cars they had a great time. With minimal help from us, the kids had a great activity to do at the party that will be something they get to take home and play with. The cars worked great and the kids love racing them. You pull them back and let them go.
Having an activity like this added that much more fun and entertainment to the excitement of the party and being able to race the cars was icing on the cake. Our kids love hands-on projects and creating things and so we knew that this would be perfect for them it is also great birthday party activity because the kids can create their cars and take them home as part of their present so you don’t have to make grab bags or gift bags for them as they leave. The Lowes Grow and Build pull back car set comes with everything to put the car together and then we gave the aprons, goggles and hammers to each child so that they could be decked out in the proper attire to build their cars.
All of the kids loved the sets – we sent them home with the cars as well as the apron, goggles and hammer as well as a screw driver set so they can continue to Build and Grow. There’s pockets on the aprons that the kids loved keeping their tools in and I am sure they will get lots of mileage. We have another project planned already to use all of these great tools from the Lowes grow and build kits that you can get in store or online.
Thank you Lowes for helping my son have an unforgettable birthday!
