Here is the first look at Walt Disney Pictures 2013 movie release schedule! I am so excited that two of my favorite movie series will have sequels coming out! Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 are on the top of my list. My kids are so excited about Monsters University, Frozen, and The Little Mermaid! I am honestly really excited to see The Lone Ranger as well. I saw a preview of it when we went to see The Hobbit and it looks amazing! Disney has another great year of movies planned. It kicks off with Oz which is going to be great (of course!).
March 8: OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL
When shady circus magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) is hurled away from Kansas into the wonderful land of Oz, he thinks that fame and fortune are his for the taking. However, three witches — Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams) — remain unconvinced that Oscar is the great wizard that the inhabitants of Oz need and expect. Reluctantly drawn into Oz’s epic problems, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it’s too late.
May 3: IRON MAN 3 (Marvel Studios)
Plagued with worry and insomnia since saving New York from destruction, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), now, is more dependent on the suits that give him his Iron Man persona — so much so that every aspect of his life is affected, including his relationship with Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow). After a malevolent enemy known as the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) reduces his personal world to rubble, Tony must rely solely on instinct and ingenuity to avenge his losses and protect the people he loves.
June 21: MONSTERS UNIVERSITY (Disney/Pixar)
Ever since he was a kid monster, Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) has dreamed of becoming a Scarer. To make his dream a reality, he enrolls at Monsters University. During his first semester, he meets Sulley (John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. Sulley and Mike engage in a fierce rivalry that ultimately gets them both kicked out of MU’s elite Scare Program. To make things right, Mike and Sulley — along with a bunch of misfit monsters — will have to learn to work together.
July 3: THE LONE RANGER
In 1933 a boy discovers an ancient Native American in a sideshow carnival tent. The Indian is Tonto (Johnny Depp), the old companion of John Reid (Armie Hammer), a lawman more famously known as the Lone Ranger. With this opportunity to set the record straight about his and Reid’s adventures, Tonto recalls the day in 1869 when he first encountered the man who would be his trusted friend and tells of their teamwork bringing down Butch Cavendish (William Fichtner) and other Old West outlaws.
September 13: THE LITTLE MERMAID 3D (Walt Disney Animation Studios)
October 4: DELIVERY MAN (DreamWorks Pictures)
November 8: THOR: THE DARK WORLD (Marvel Studios)
November 27: FROZEN (Walt Disney Animation Studios)
December 20: SAVING MR. BANKS
