Making bread from scratch has always been on the top of my list of things to master as a homemaker. Unfortunately, I haven’t the time or the patience to make it the way my mom did and I really didn’t want to use a bread-maker machine 5-6 times a week, so I settled for buying bread all of these years. I recently received the Pantry Secrets bread making DVD’s and some other supplies, and so I shook off my fear of having it turn out like a “rock” and gave it a go.

Breads have always been my nemesis in the kitchen and so I was determined to make it something I was really good at. I couldn’t believe how easy it was, and how amazing it turned out – I now have homemade bread available 24/7 – and only spend about 2 hours a week in the kitchen making it (twice a week).

Sound to good to be true? Well – this time it is not. They use a special combination of ingredients that allow you to mix the dough, let it rise for 25 minutes, and then cook it for 20-25 minutes, and you are done. Each batch makes four big loaves of bread, or dozens of other things – and so you don’t have to spend a lot of time making it, prepping, it and cooking it. Mix, rise, and bake – simple steps and simple ingredients.

This has quite literally changed not only my menu – but my life. I am not trying to sound dramatic, but there is a certain level of satisfaction that comes with being able to make bread (and other items of the same like pizza crusts, cinnamon rolls, etc).  I feel more capable and a little more accomplished in the kitchen.

They have amazing products that help you make it easier to measure, mix and bake your breads. Be sure to  check out their online store to get the DVD’s that take you through the process step by step and answer all of your questions. I love Pantry Secrets and can’t stop talking about it. The owners are amazing and very friendly. They offer local classes as well. Instead of being a slave to your kitchen, become the master by using Pantry Secrets recipes. They make great gifts for any occasion, and are perfect for anyone who wants to save money in their grocery budget and put homemade bread on the table at the same time.

I’m going to have to check this out! I love baking bread, but I don’t have the time to consistently keep up with it. An hour is do-able 🙂 Thanks for the review.

I’ve been a little too intimidated to make my own bread at home so instead I’ve been buying it at the farmer’s market. I need to start making it though. Thanks for the great post!
